Get ready to soak up the seaside atmosphere at the Blackpool Summer Run, featuring a 10k and 5k along the world-famous Promenade. Starting in the shadow of the iconic Blackpool Tower on the Comedy Carpet, runners will enjoy a unique closed-to-traffic course with plenty of space to stride out by the sea.

ON THE DAY RACE PACK COLLECTION
The race pack collection points will be open on race day from 8.00am - 9.45am. All competitors must wear a personalised bib number on the front of their running top. The bib number also carries the chip timing tag (pre-attached, so don't remove it) which must be clearly visible as you go over the start and finish lines. Safety pins are available if required.

T-SHIRT COLLECTION
If you have pre-ordered a commemorative tech t-shirt, you can collect it from the t-shirt stand located next to the bib collection points. T-Shirt info is printed on your bib pack. Please present this to the registration staff who will exchange it for your t-shirt. (Before or after your run).

START
Both the 10k and 5k start together at 10.00am sharp It will be a 'mass start' of competitors. The event is chip timed so your tag will only activate when you cross the start line.

TOILETS
Portable toilets are located close to the registration area. There are enough toilets for the event, but not if everyone goes at the same time. So plan your visit carefully!

DISTANCE CHANGES
If you decide to change your distance from the 10k to the 5k, either before you start or during the race, YOU MUST notify us of this with the timing crew located at the the start/finish. Your timing tag is pre-programmed with your distance so if you don't tell us, this will seriously affect the results for everyone else!

WATER STATION
A water station is available at the halfway point (10k ONLY) supplying 500ml bottled water. Shortly after the station you will see a large bin to throw your bottle into. Please use the bin and don't litter the route. Water is also available at the finish for both the 10k & 5k.

BAGGAGE STORAGE
You will find a baggage storage marquee located next to the collection points. Use this facility to store essential items you will need for when you have finished your run. Do not leave any valuables as this area is not manned.

CAR KEY STORAGE
We have a key drop facility available. Use your empty envelope after collecting your bib number to place your keys in and hand to a member of staff at the bib collection points for safekeeping whilst you are competing.

MEDALS & AWARDS
All finishers will receive their beautiful blingtastic medal at the finish line. Individual prizes will be awarded in the following categories;
• First 3 10k Men Overall
• First 3 10k Ladies Overall
• First Male 10k Veteran over 40/45/50/55/60/65/70+
• First Lady 10k Veteran over 35/40/45/50/55/60/65+
• First 3 5k Men Overall
• First 3 5k Ladies Overall

The amazing team of Paramedics from Remote Medical Services will be onsite for the duration of the event. There will be facilities available at the start/finish area and roaming bikes on the course itself. If you need any assistance please notify a marshal on the course who will get help for you.
