Introducing the Blackpool Beach 10k & 5k. A gruelling, yet fun and rewarding event on the beach of Blackpool and St. Annes. There are two routes for each of the distances, a "high-tide" route which runs the first and last kilometre on the main promenade walkway and a "low-tide" route which is run entirely on the beach...
The event is suitable for all abilities of runner. The sand is mainly hard-packed so standard road trainers can be worn. We do not recommend running bare-foot.

Everything you need to know...
Registration |
All competitors must pre-register for the event using the online entry facility. Online entry closes the week before the event. Entries 'on the day' are subject to availability. |
Bib Numbers |
All competitors must wear a personalised bib number on the front of their running top or jacket. The bib number also carries the chip timing tag which must be clearly visible as you go over the start and finish lines. Safety pins are available if required. When you have your bib number, there is a contact/medical form on the back which needs to be completed before you start. When you're ready it needs to be pinned to the FRONT of your running top, with the silver timing tag visible. Don't bend, remove, break or stick any pins through your tag as it won't work! |
Venue |
The event is staged at the Giant Mirrorball on Blackpool's South Promenade. The check-in desks and registration opens at 9.30am in the event marquees. The nearest postcode is FY4 1BB Here you will find all the facilities for the event including; • Bib Number collection points • Race Start & Finish • Toilets • Baggage Storage • Secure Key Drop Box • Medical Facilities • Event Enquiry Point The event venue facilities are open from 9.00am. Remember, we don't have time limits so there is no need to worry about anything closing down! Just concentrate on enjoying your day. |
Water Stations |
A water station is available on the 10k route at the halfway point supplying 500ml bottled water. Water is also available at the finish of both events. |
Baggage Storage |
You will find a baggage storage marquee located next to the collection points. Use this facility to store essential items you will need for when you have finished your event. Do not leave any valuables as this area is not manned. |
Key Storage |
We have a key drop facility available throughout both days. Use your empty envelope after collecting your bib number to place your keys in and hand to a member of staff at the collection points for safekeeping whilst you are competing. |
Medical Support |
The expert team from Remote Medical Services will be stood too for the duration of all the events. There will be paramedic responders on their bikes patrolling the courses and ambulance facilities at the start and finish areas. Should you need any assistance then alert a medic or marshal. |
Parking |
Being a resort town, Blackpool is full of car parks, all with varying charges and facilities. There are too many to mention, so we've cheated and used Parkopedia to help you. CLICK HERE FOR PARKOPEDIA. On-street parking is also available but be careful not to park across driveways, hotel entrances etc. |
Awards & Prizes |
All finishers will receive their beautiful blingtastic medal at the finish line. Individual prizes will be awarded in the following categories (10k only); • First 3 Men Overall • First 3 Ladies Overall • First Male Veteran over 40/45/50/55/60/65/70+ • First Lady Veteran over 35/40/45/50/55/60/65+ The awards presentation will take place at approximately 12.15pm at the registration area. Please ensure you are around to collect your prize as we cannot post them after the event. |
Results |
Shortly after the last competitor has finished, the results will be published on the events website. The results will show your official event time and your personal chip time. If you have any problems with your results we will try and sort as quickly as possible for you. Drop us an email giving as much detail as possible to [email protected]. |
